Sisters salutes...

On April 21, Property and Casualty Coverage for Education (PACE) awarded one of two Special Service Awards to Leland Bliss, Director of Operations for the Sisters School District. This is a new award that has been created by PACE this year.

In September of 2015, when students from Eugene School District were involved in a tragic vehicle accident near Sisters, Leland arranged for a Sisters School District bus to pick up the Eugene students and provide assistance to the athletes who were on their way to Bend for an athletic event.

Bliss was quick to give credit to the team of Sisters School District employees who jumped into action providing counseling, food and comfort to the Eugene students when brought back to Sisters. Sisters School District then provided a school bus to transport the students back home to Eugene.

Congratulations, Leland and to all the staff who helped create a safe and welcoming environment for these students.
