Norman Blair died peacefully at his home near Sisters, in the presence of his family. He was born to Horace and Ethel Overly Blair, the second of three children. He grew up and graduated from high school at Bellfountaine, Ohio. He attended Ohio Northern University during 1943-45. In 1948 Norman moved to Lebanon, Oregon with his first wife, Dorotha, and their daughter Sandra. Three more children, Elizabeth, Carrie and Kent were born in the ensuing years.
Norman was employed by the State of Oregon Employment Department for 34 years. He spent many of those years as manager of the Lebanon Employment Department office, He was a longtime member of Kiwanis Club, and the Methodist Church in Lebanon. He was dedicated to helping people and businesses in his community.
After retirement, Norman moved to the Sisters area and started a refrigeration repair business. He enjoyed skiing, hiking, hunting, and fishing. In 1986, he married his second wife, Linda, and welcomed her daughters Sherri and Debby into the family. Together they enjoyed many road trips across the United States and parts of Canada. He was an active member of Sisters Church of the Nazarene.
Norman was blessed with 16 grandchildren; Ryan, Joshua, Andy, Brady, Hannah, Jordan, Abigail, Delainie, Jacob, Amanda, Emily, and Jesse, and he had 15 great-grandchildren
Celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m. on July 23, at Sisters Church of the Nazarene, located at 67130 Harrington Loop.
