Sisters artist featured at SAW exhibit

"Fish and Fowl: Native Woods," a show of recent work by Sisters artist and long-time educator Steve Mathews, will open at Sisters Art Works on Monday, May 16.

The exhibit will include illustrated tables, benches, mirrors, wall pieces and acrylic paintings.

"Most of the work included will have a somewhat whimsical and off-beat direction, hopefully allowing viewers to look closely, study details and perhaps smile a bit," Mathews said.

The colors are predominantly warm and the themes are upbeat, with just a touch of surrealism added.

Viewers are invited to visit the showing on weekdays at Sisters Art Works and to stop in for a glass of wine during the Fourth Friday Art Stroll on Friday, May 28, from 4 to 7 p.m.

Sisters Art Works is located at 204 W. Adams Ave.
