The fourth annual Taste of Sisters is set for Friday, September 16, starting at 6 p.m. in the open courtyard at Eurosports, 223 E. Hood Ave.
In past years, more than $8,000 has been raised to help Sisters Kiwanis Food Bank and Furry Friends Foundation.
So far, 17 Sisters businesses - and counting - will be donating the prepared food with a variety of dishes that include vegan, vegetarian, meat, dairy-free and gluten-free options. There are still opportunities for eating establishments to participate, according to organizer Karen Kassy.
She can be contacted through The Nugget.
"It's really a win-win for everyone," Kassy said. "Participants get to eat wonderful food at a sliding-scale price of paying what is comfortable for them: $20-$60 per ticket. Our Sisters-area food establishments reach new people and remind everyone of how great their meals are. And, most important, the Food Bank and Furry Friends Foundation receive money that enables them to help in our community all year long."
Entertainment will be provided by Beatles' cover band Juju Eyeball. With a repertoire of more than 80 Beatles songs, they will play three sets of favorites and danceable Beatles songs.
Central Oregon Aerial Arts provides jaw-dropping entertainment as performers hang from 25-foot silk ribbons and perform acrobatic feats in the air.
Advance ticket purchase is encourage at Eurosports or online at Bendticket.com. Tickets may be available at the door if it does not sell out.
Organizers are still accepting donated items from local businesses for the drawings; if you have an item to donate, contact Kiki Dolson at 541-549-9941 for pickup.
