Sisters Arts Association Fourth Friday Art Stroll

Celebrate the arrival of summer by strolling through the galleries of Sisters during the Fourth Friday Art Stroll, June 23 from 4 to 7 p.m. Grab your friends and enjoy the warmer weather and art while sampling light refreshments.

Hood Avenue Art is featuring Central Oregon pastels and oils by Kathleen Keliher and original Oregon sunstone jewelry by Elyse and Steven Douglas.

Gary Cooley's Collection Gallery features Cindy Briggs' luminous watercolors inspired by her many journeys. Briggs' work has been featured in major publications and collections. Co-author of "Make Every Day A Painting," Briggs leads popular workshops by that name worldwide, and teaches at The Art Station in Bend, Broken Top Club, and at her studio.

Clearwater Gallery's 12th Annual Miniature Art Show opens on Thursday, June 22, and a reception will be held during the art stroll. See over 100 original "little paintings" by more than 20 artists.

Beacham's Clock Com-pany's horological professionals keep the age-old art of timekeeping alive with an orerry, a mechanical model of the solar system that tracks the relation of the planets to each other. The planets rotate and show the month and year. The design, gears and case are handmade.

Sisters Gallery & Frame Shop is winging it this month with scratchboard eagles by Jennifer Hartwig; ravens, owl and geese by Carol Grigg; owl and condor by Jodi Schneider; Chance the Red Tail Hawk; and the herons At the River's Edge.

Ken Scott's Imagination Gallery features watercolorist Don Zylus painting onsite and discussing his techniques and inspiration. Julianne and Rachelle, accompanied by Ken Scott on harmonica, will provide music.

Raven Makes Gallery showcases fine traditionally woven contemporary basketry from Native American master basket-weavers Peggy Black and Elsie Holiday. Raven Makes has a stunning series of eclipse, sun and moon motifs, and Navajo ceremonial baskets that reflect deep and traditional connections.

Studio Redfield shows Randy Redfield's large color-filled new paintings and ceramics that mimic the abstract work he is known for. Also see handpainted Kibak tiles for commercial and residential use.

The Jewel introduces Wolfgang Vaatz, master jewelry sculptor and miniature metals muralist. Drawn to nature in his native Namibia, Vaatz now lives in America. His jewelry depicts landscapes, forest and sky, contrasting high-karat gold against blackened silver, crisply engraved to depict the natural world.

Twigs' new exhibit, "Incubation," is a mother-daughter show by Jean and Valori Wells. As leaders in the quilting community, they work intuitively with various fabrics, block printing, and their exceptional color theories.

"Inner and Outer Land-scapes," Sisters Art Works' exhibit, features printmakers Gin Laughery and Julie Winter, member artists of Atelier 6000. The smoke above a horizon line in Laughery's pieces and the abstract detail in Winter's work invite viewers to interpret and recognize the places we call home. The Roundhouse Foundation is sponsoring this exhibit in support of arts and artists in Central Oregon.

Jill Neal has two new additions to the stylized horses in her equine art collection, emphasizing flowing, bold, vibrant colors and movement; a plush hoodie "12th Woman" sweatshirt, and for Duck fans, the "flying duck" UO cheerleader in giclee prints and mugs.

Bigfoot Wellness has a textural, large-scale acrylic non-figurative collection called "Soul Weave" by Judy Thomas. Also, a LuLaRoe pop-up boutique, earrings, and essential oil raffle.

Sisters Library is showing the work of local artists Barbara Berry and Paul Alan Bennett.
