Sisters Trails Alliance seeks 'trail adopters'

Sisters Trails Alliance (STA) is recruiting volunteers for their Adopt a Trail program. The goal of the program is better-maintained and safer trails through community ownership and stewardship.

Trail adopters are the superheroes of our trail system. They do periodic inspection and minor maintenance on an assigned section within the STA trail system and keep us up to date on trail conditions. Potential Adopters should have a moderate level of fitness to serve in this role, but no direct experience is necessary and training and equipment will be provided.

STA is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to connect people and communities to each other and their natural surroundings. Trail adoption offers a rewarding and enjoyable opportunity to be a part of maintaining and improving access to the natural environment and public lands where we live.

Meet some of the current trail adopters at the next Toast the Trails event on Thursday, August 3 at Three Creeks Brewing's tasting room at 265 E. Barclay Dr. Tickets for the event are available at the door for only $10 and include a tasting of beers on tap, a beer of your choice, light hors d'oeuvres and brewery tours. The event runs from 5 to 7 p.m.
