Huskies take down Outlaws

The Outlaws were plagued by turnovers in their 28-8 loss to the Huskies at Sweet Home (SH) on Friday, September 22.

Both teams turned the ball over multiple times in the contest, but some of Sisters' turnovers were costly. Twice in the game the Outlaws forced a turnover, and immediately gave the ball back to the Huskies on the following play.

Sweet Home opened the scoring midway through he first quarter with a three-yard TD run by James, but did not convert on their two-point conversion attempt. With just over two minutes left in the period, the Huskies scored again, and failed on the two-point attempt. At the close of the first quarter, Sweet Home held a 12-0 advantage over the Outlaws.

Neither team scored in the second quarter, and at the half the Huskies held onto their 12-point lead.

Sisters got on the scoreboard three minutes into the third quarter. The Outlaws scored on a 30-yard touchdown pass from Taylor Fendall to Corbin Sharp. There was a botched snap on the PAT attempt, but Christopher Luz was able to score on a run for two points, and narrow the score to 12-8.

The Huskies responded with a 40-yard TD run two minutes later. Their two-point attempt via a pass was on target, and SH forged ahead 20-8. The Huskies scored their final touchdown of the game with 9:03 left on the clock, on a 10-yard pass. The two-point conversion attempt was successful and they pushed their lead to 28-8, and closed out the game at the buzzer.

Sisters' penalties were critical, and multiple drives were killed due to mental mistakes.

Sharp, along with the offensive line, were bright spots in the contest. Corbin was responsible for the Outlaws' lone touchdown, as well as forcing an interception in the second quarter. The offensive line did a good job, controlled the line of scrimmage for much of the game, but unfortunate penalties were the culprit that continued to stall drives.

The Outlaws will play at Sutherlin on Friday, September 29.
