News and Opinion from Sisters, Oregon
The Sisters Ranger District is planning to implement a 135 acre underburn on Wednesday, May 30, approximately five miles northwest of Sisters. The units are just north of Highway 20 near Indian Ford Campground. The unit is located between the Indian Ford Road and Forest Service Road 11.
If conditions remain favorable, ignitions are planned to begin mid-morning and continue into the mid-afternoon. Expect delays and traffic control in the area during ignition operations. Smoke will likely be visible for a few days following the burn from Sisters and surrounding areas and smoke may settle in the Indian Ford and Whychus Creek drainages during nighttime inversions.
