Sisters Arts Association Fourth Friday Art Stroll

Celebrate the arrival of summer at the Fourth Friday Art Stroll through the galleries of Sisters. From 4 to 7 p.m. this Friday, galleries will be open featuring works by selected artists, light snacks, and live music.

Hood Avenue Art gallery features abstract and landscape pastels by JoAnn Burgess, handcrafted Oregon Sunstone fine jewelry by Elyse and Steven Douglas, and live music by Bob Baker.

Gary Cooley is the featured artist in his Collection Gallery. Check out his upcoming DVD and sculpture class for kids (of all ages). His sculpture kits will be available.

At Clearwater Gallery the sun will shine in Mare Schelz's new mosaic glass windows and reflect Edie Shelton's fun fused glass home and garden décor.

Beacham's Clock Company will be demonstrating the gold foiling process that is part of their hand-made clocks.

Don't miss Kate Aspen's Cowgirls and Indians Resale, featuring bronzes by Marie Barbera, including "Nathan," a Navaho sheepherder, and Kate's own Red Necklace series.

Sisters Coffee Company's artist is nature and wildlife photographer Holly Fischer, whose passion for the natural world is seen in her compositions from Jackson Hole, Yellowstone, Yosemite, and Nepal. Check out the Happy Hour menu featuring a $2 traditional coffee.

Sisters Gallery & Frame Shop will feature new watercolors and oils of horses, owls, and junipers by Caroline Stratton-Crow, and new pastels by Antonia Carriere.

Ken Scott's Imagination Gallery will be all lit up with fanciful and sparkling new lamps created by Ken. You'll recognize the place by the Cinderella carriage and the flaming rhino!

Raven Makes Gallery welcomes Pacific Northwest Artist Lillian Pitt for a special weekend show and exhibition. Though Lillian Pitt's work has been displayed in multiple galleries and museums over the years, this is the first time in 10 years that it will be displayed at a gallery in Central Oregon. A highly accomplished artist, Lillian Pitt began her career working in clay, and now includes creations in bronze, glass, mixed media, and jewelry. Her contemporary art reflects the traditions, life ways, and symbols of her ancestors, who lived in the Columbia River Gorge for more than 10,000 years. She will give a presentation in the gallery from 1 to 2 p.m. on Saturday.

Wildflower Studio is gearing up for the Sisters Outdoor Quilt Show with fiber arts, including the gallery's quilt ornament, soft sculptures, paintings, and jewelry.

Jill Neal's new art includes her original creation for Westport Winery's "Duckleberry Crush," and the first of several unicorns.

Western art by Len Babb and watercolors by Judy Hayden are still being shown in the Sisters Library.

Starting this Sunday, June 24, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., galleries will host an "Arts and Bites Stroll." There will be artist demonstrations and tasty bites for visitors. Silent Echo Theater Company will be providing entertainment, on the lawn between the Hood Avenue Art Gallery and The Open Door. Bend Storytelling Circle will present stories for adults and children over age 12, from 11:15 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Then, from 1:15 to 1:45 p.m., poet Jana Zvibleman presents "Out in the Open Poetry" for all ages.
