News and Opinion from Sisters, Oregon
Roy Gannon, a Sisters High School senior, was named National American Miss Oregon Teen at the Oregon State Pageant held September 3. She will attend the National Pageant at Disneyland in Anaheim, California, during Thanksgiving week, where she will have an opportunity to win a share of over $500,000 in cash and prizes.
Her mother, Sheila Gannon, noted that this was "her fifth year competing for the title and she is very honored that her hard work has finally paid off."
The pageant program is based on inner beauty as well as poise and presentation, and offers an "All-American spirit" of fun for family and friends. Emphasis is placed on the importance of gaining self-confidence, learning new skills, learning good attitudes about competition, and setting and achieving personal goals.
Roy is involved in gymnastics, cheerleading, student government and Jazz Choir.
