Sisters hit the road on Tuesday to take on Woodburn, a new league foe this year, and sailed to an easy win. In the first set, Kendra Sitz tallied three aces in her 7-0 serving run to give the Outlaws a quick start. Sisters recorded five more aces in their first-set victory.
The Outlaws found the same success in the final two sets. They served tough and forced a young Woodburn team to struggle.
The Outlaws posted 21 kills, 20 aces, and three blocks. Sophie Silva led the squad with five kills and three serving aces.
At home two days later, the Lady Outlaws started the match a bit out of sync against No. 5-ranked Philomath. Sisters committed 15 passing errors in the first set, but were able to pull off a win by a slim margin. The Outlaws found their rhythm, played strong in the second and third sets, and recorded the victory.
Sisters was strong at the net and recorded 40 team kills in the contest, led by Sophie Silva and Kendra Sitz, who each tallied 10. Sam Silva contributed eight kills, and Greta Davis added seven. Setter Ellie Rush dished out 32 assists.
The team also had 10 blocks and 10 aces in the match.
"Despite having a slow start I was pleased with the way we were able to bounce back and find our rhythm," said Rush. "I was proud of our effort tonight, and look forward to getting back in the gym and working on the little details so we can be more precise with our execution."
Sisters was to travel to Stayton on Tuesday, September 18. They will face the Sweet Home Huskies at home on Thursday.
