Seed to Table receives grant

Northwest Farm Credit Services awarded Seed to table in Sisters a $2,500 Northwest FCS Rural Community Grant.

"Seed to Table Oregon is extremely grateful for the generous Rural Grant provided by Northwest Farm Credit Services," said Seed to Table Executive Director Audrey Tehan. "The grant is critical to help revive our propagation greenhouse by allowing us to install a new cover and heating system. The upgrade will help us grow 10,000 more pounds of vegetables each year and provide shelter and warmth for our education farm during the cold Central Oregon spring and fall. Community support from businesses such as Northwest FCS is essential for us to continue increasing the health and wellness of the community."

In 2018 to date, Northwest Farm Credit Services committed over $189,000 to 126 projects in rural communities across Idaho, Montana, Oregon and Washington. Since the program's inception in 2007, it has awarded 932 grants totaling more than $1.65 million.

The next rural grant deadline is October 1. If you think your rural project may be eligible for a grant, visit http://www.northwestfcs.com/Stewardship/Rural-Communities for more information and an application.
