Girls tennis squad returns experienced players

It’s been a rough few weeks for the girls tennis squad. Thirty-four-plus inches of snow forced the Outlaws to move their practice inside at Sisters Middle School. Eagle Crest has also been generous and has allowed the team to have some optional practices on their two indoor courts.

Even though the weather has been bad, and the team has had to make major adjustments in practice, it didn’t deter girls from turning out for the sport. The squad will boast a roster of 23 players this year, 11 of which return with experience.

Back for another season include seniors Alexa Asson and Sophia Frack, juniors Rheanna Salisbury, Ramsey Schar, Mattie Mynatt, Hannah Ezell, Lola Green, Holly Werts, and Hallie Schwartz, and sophomores Sophie Silva and Lauren Fitzke.

Twelve additional players have picked up the sport this year and include seniors Molly Winter and Kendra Sitz, juniors Emma Horner, Emma Maxwell, Quinn Crowe, Jade Anaya and Allison Mansfield, sophomore Ellie Rush, and freshmen Chloe Winter, Jenna Kizziar, Laci Clemmons and Katie Mansfield.

Since players haven’t had the chance to practice outside, it’s been difficult for first year head coach Alan VonStein to access their individual skills and abilities and know where they will play.
