News and Opinion from Sisters, Oregon
Sisters restaurants and eateries are facing unprecedented challenges this winter. Strict state-mandated restrictions imposed in an effort to slow a spike in COVID-19 cases are threatening those businesses’ ability to operate — and potentially their ability to survive the season.
In an effort to help the Sisters community support its culinary culture, The Nugget has published a winter guide to groceries, dining, take-out and delivery services. “Let’s Eat Close to Home” is inserted in this week’s edition of The Nugget. It is designed to be kept on hand as a guide to local dining services. The digital version, available here, can be downloaded to your device for easy offline access.
Restaurants are featuring take-out/delivery menus of popular items and other outlets are featuring information on their goods and services.
“The goal of Let’s Eat Close to Home is to make it as easy and convenient as possible for local folks to support our local restaurants and eateries,” said Nugget Editor in Chief Jim Cornelius. “When we ask, what’s for breakfast, lunch, or dinner, this guide will be there to remind us to go out and grab something good, maybe try something new. We’re lucky to have the diverse dining options we have in Sisters — and we want to keep them. Eating well to support the local economy in tough times — seems like a win-win to me.”
