News and Opinion from Sisters, Oregon
On Tuesday, June 21, the summer solstice, residents of Sisters Country are invited by Citizens4Community (C4C) to a Community Celebration from 4 to 6 p.m. at Creekside Park. The community is invited to help celebrate the progress in Sisters Country through the hard work and focus of fellow community members.
The City and the Vision Implementation Team (VIT) will be sharing the progress made on a variety of local projects. Over the last several years, a great deal of work has been going on behind the scenes and it is time to hear about and celebrate the gains made while gathering as a community for one of the first time in a long time.
From 4 – 4:30 p.m., people will be able to mingle and enjoy free snacks. Awards and speeches by the Mayor, City Manager, and VIT members will run 4:30-4:45 p.m. Awards for the Vision Team members will highlight work done by individuals and groups to promote a more Prosperous, Livable, Resilient and Connected community (the four main goals of the visioning process).
At 4:45 p.m., maps and postcards with City project information will be available for a self-guided tour of City projects at Creekside campground including a play structure, new ADA accessible ramps on the bridge across the creek, well #4, a new storage shed, and split rail fence.
Tables will be set up for information from Public Works (including water conservation materials), the Parks Master Plan, and general City information. C4C and Sisters Community Connects website will also have a table for information on their services to the community along with some give aways and two drawings for $50 gift certificates.
