'Silent Sky' coming to Sisters this month

Ellipse Theatre Community (ETC) will perform “Silent Sky” by acclaimed playwright Lauren Gunderson in Sisters September 22-23.

Henrietta Swan Leavitt (1868-1921) and her female colleagues at the Harvard Observatory acted as “human computers,” using math and astronomical devices to study a star’s position and brightness, so they could chart the skies.

Juliah Rae directs Annie Tappouni, Susanna Harrison, Betsy Alexander Mason, Christina Reynolds, and Mark Baron in Gunderson’s fictionalized biography that is filled with an irresistible combination of humor, romance, feminism, music, and universal truths.

You can purchase tickets online at https://bendticket.com/organizations/ellipse-theatre-community.

Performances will be held at the Sisters-Camp Sherman Fire Community Hall, 301 S. Elm St., Friday at 7 p.m. and Saturday at 2 and 7 p.m.
